What Does The Future
Hold For Wireless?
Believe it or not, with all that wireless can do right now, it is still in its infancy and has a big future ahead of it.
Phones, Radios, Anyone?
Wireless will always be a better choice over wires. Its cheaper to operate, no wires to deal with and pay for, and the air is free to transfer
signals.
You may think that this doesn’t apply to the computer, but in fact soon wireless computers will be cheaper than wired ones. Wireless is also
easier to use.
What About WiMAX?
WiMAX is 802.16, the new version of the wireless networking protocol used today. Since 2001, WiMAX has been under development and could hit
the market any day now. It will compliment the existing wireless equipment instead of reinventing and replacing it. The biggest advantage is it
increases range, by a factor of a thousand! WiMAX stations will be able to transmit up to 30 miles. It can reach speeds up to 70 Mbps. Its
security is much stronger as well. It is an exciting prospect.
Whole cities can get wireless access. No hotspots to find, just decide which WiMAX network you want to connect to instead. All you would have
to do, in the future, is order internet access by connecting your existing wireless equipment to the network, opening your web browser, and
buying a low cost subscription. No routers, no access points and no more configuring. Wireless internet would be everywhere.
You can check out what is happening with WiMAX at the weblog at http://wimax.weblogsinc.com or the

Back To Bluetooth: Everything And Then Some
Bluetooth is going to replace USB, of course, but that’s not all. It will replace virtually every wire there is (except the power
cables). Your TV can be connected to your DVD player by Bluetooth. The speakers could connect to your radio with Bluetooth as well. As time goes
by, you will see fewer and fewer wires.
It’s Going To Be Simpler
Wireless technology is inherently very convenient. The future of wireless is to make everyone’s life easier, simpler. In as little as a
decade, there will be few wires left. Most people will not even notice the loss, and nobody will regret it.
